The Acer Swift 5 15 comes with a magnesium alloy construction, which not only makes it sturdy but also gives a premium appeal. Surprisingly enough, the ultra-lightweight laptop features a large 15.6-inch display. This set the Swift 5 apart from the current lineup of portable ultrabooks from competing brands. It’s an IPS Full HD (1,920 x 1,080p) touch-enabled display. The bezels surrounding the display are quite narrow too measuring at just 5.87mm, thereby resulting in an impressive 87.6% overall screen to body ratio. Under the hood, the Acer Swift 5 15 is powered by an 8th gen Intel Core i5 or i7 quad-core processors. Users can choose between Intel Core i5-8250U (1.6GHz base clock speed, 3.4GHz TurboBoost) and Intel Core i7-8550U (1.8GHz base clock speed, 4.0GHz TurboBoost). Besides, the laptop features up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM and a 1TB of PCIe NVME SSD. Despite being a slim and lightweight ultrabook, the Acer Swift 5 15 doesn’t miss out on the essential ports. In terms of connectivity, the all-new laptop features a full-size microSD card slot, normal size HDMI, single USB Type C 3.1 Gen 2, and two standard USB 3.1 ports. Furthermore, it comes with Gigabit WLAN and a Bluetooth 5.0. Acer will also provide a fingerprint reader along with the laptop in selected countries. One of the main gibes regarding the Acer Swift 5 15 is the absence of a backlit keyboard. Otherwise, the keyboard is pretty decent, and so is the trackpad. Acer is yet to reveal any information regarding the price of the laptop yet. With that said, it can be expected to fall on the higher side of the price bracket. The Taiwanese firm is expected to bring the laptop to a number of its international markets including India and USA.
